Straight Photography
When I chose this project I thought it would be good because I would be able to pay around with different lights and get interesting shadows and reflections. In this project I used rule of thirds, perspective, and repetition. I selected these photos because their unique angles and the shadows made by the light. I also chose these photos because they were photos of patterns and geometrical objects that were interesting.
I think that I did a good job finding unique and usually not photographed items and made them interesting. Also I think I did good job editing these photos. I could have a little extra time focusing and getting it just right and also move my light source around to get just the right reflection and shadows. I think I have mastered the techniques of repetition, depth, leading lines, and the rule of thirds.
I learned from this project that taking photos of ordinary objects can be very interesting. Zooming in and getting close to objects obscures what you are looking and and can make a interesting photograph. Something as simple as graph paper with hole punches in it can be a very captivating photo that people will want to look at.
